Hasib’s Story
Hasib is a 33-year-old entrepreneur from Parulia Village in Lalmonirhat District, who balances his time between running a photocopy and internet service shop and working on his agricultural land.
Living in a grassroots community, Hasib has managed to adapt to the growing digital economy, using multiple Mobile Financial Services (MFS) platforms to handle his business transactions.
It was through his personal use of DFS that he realised the potential in becoming an MFS agent. Once his mind was made up, Hasib approached the Distribution Sales Officer of a popular brand of MFS for guidance on becoming an agent. After submitting the required documents, including his NID, trade license, and a picture, Hasib secured his agentship after a two-month wait.
His customers primarily come to him for cash-out services, money transfers, and mobile recharges. Occasionally, he participates in mass onboarding at local schools to help people open accounts.
Despite the success, Hasib faces challenges. Many of his customers struggle with fraud or forget their PINs, and he often assists them in resolving these issues, setting up new pincodes, calling customer care etc - strategies he has learnt through his experience.
