Sarah’s Story

Sarah is a 42-year-old farmer and mother of two from a rural community in Northern Uganda. She was introduced to digital financial services (DFS) after receiving her first smartphone through a mobile provider's distribution program. This new access to technology inspired her to explore various DFS platforms, onboarding onto several that were recommended to her.

However, not all the services met Sarah’s needs. She found some platforms too complex to navigate and others consumed too much data, which became an inconvenience. After experimenting with different options, Sarah finally found a DFS that suited her lifestyle, and since then, she has felt that it has significantly improved her day-to-day life, making her financial transactions much easier and more manageable.
