Maliya’s Story
Maliya is a 29 year old house wife who lives in a village in Bangladesh. Maliya’s husband works as a garment factory worker in Dhaka and he suggested she open a Mobile Wallet to facilitate transactions. Maliya believes that wives should always listen to what their husband’s say so opened an account.
They opted for a brand with low cash out charges and one evening they went to a mobile wallet agent together. There was no vehicle, so they had to walk.
Finally, the agent gave a piece of paper with the PIN to her husband and advised Maliya and him to keep it with utmost care.
Now to make any transactions, Maliya visits the agent - he is an agent who her husband has known for a long time. After waiting for some time, it was finally their turn. Maliya’s husband handed Maliya’s feature phone to the agent and they both completed the process together.
