Sulekha’s Story
Sulekha is a 33 year old homemaker who moved to Vizag with her husband from North India. To make ends meet, they have their own Samosa stall. Suleka also has two young boys who are always up to some sort of mischief.
Sulekha used UPI apps up until a couple of months ago but recently deleted them from her phone as her two sons transferred INR 5000 to an unknown number when playing with her phone.
At the time, all the UPI apps were connected to her husband's account. He decided that it was time for Sulekha to get her own account, so he sent a Digital Payments Bank agent to their home to get the process started.
When the agent arrived at the house to begin the process, Sulekha had not been informed of his arrival and asked him to leave. When he insisted that he had to open the account and check her documentation, she angrily called her husband and only upon his confirmation let the agent begin the account opening process.
Eventually her husband came home and the agent began to explain the working of Sulekha's account to him while she looked over his shoulder. Unconvinced, her husband asked a series of questions around how such an account could be valuable to Sulekha adding that she often makes mistakes when it comes to technology.
