Bu Zahra’s Story
Bu Zahra is a 36-year-old food seller from Sidoarjo, who registered on three food merchant apps, with the help of a friend who is an online driver. She did this to expand her reach beyond her offline store and attract more customers.

She actively uses all the food apps and accepts QRIS payments, viewing the D+1 settlement period as a way to save money. However, due to limited education from officials, she doesn't fully understand how QRIS works from the customer's perspective, so she doesn't actively promote it.
"I printed this (QRIS) myself, the sales didn’t tell me anything. Luckily, no one ever asks me about this (QRIS), because I don’t understand how to explain it." - Bu Zahra
Currently, around 3 out of 10 of her customers pay via QRIS, while the rest use cash, which gives her a balance between immediate cash flow for stock and money set aside for savings.
"I only withdraw the money from QRIS when I need it. If I still have cash in a week, I won’t take it out, if everything were in cash, I couldn’t save any money. When you have cash in hand, you tend to spend it." - Bu Zahra
