Shaila’s Story
Shaila is a 52 year old housewife from Dhaka city who actively manages financial matters alongside her husband, who runs a business shop. With a smartphone and a Wi-Fi connection at home, she frequently watches YouTube to learn essential skills and manages to operate her phone independently.
Shaila already has a DFS account that she uses for daily transactions. However, she recently decided to open a new account for easier cash-out and transactions, as one of the bank employees suggested it would be more convenient. The employee mentioned that having a this type of account would allow her to easily link it with her bank, making it an appealing option.
Confident in her abilities, Shaila decided to register the account by herself, especially since she had experience with other DFS. She requested her National ID from her husband who keeps all the IDs securely. After explaining why she needed it, her husband provided the NID.
With this in place, Shaila decided to watch a YouTube tutorial on how to set up the account to ensure she was fully prepared.
As per the tutorial, she downloaded the app and followed the step-by-step instructions without encountering any significant issues. Digitally literate and experienced in handling MFS accounts, Shaila found it relatively easy to navigate through the registration process. While taking the live photo during registration, she initially felt unsure due to the combination of written instructions and an auto-generated audio guide. However, she successfully captured the photo on her first attempt, completing the process smoothly.
